I am in the process of working on my interior and have come to the headliner. It's an almond (off white) color. It is not bright white and never was... and I don't believe I want it to be. It's in great physical shape just needs a new finish.

I had found a vinyl coloring dye made by rustoleum that was "sand" (beige) colored. It came in the same "shoe polish" foam applicator bottle. I have applied one coat and am just not happy with it. Way to tan and I just don't think its' going to look good. Really need that off white color.

Anyway, back to my real question... I just can't find an off white flexible coating that has a sponge applicator. I would REALLY love to use a SEM spray can but am terrified of spraying inside the plane even if I covered everything extremely well.

Another crazy thought is removing it / painting it and putting it back in but that sounds like a crazy idea and would probably leave me cursing. I can imagine it's glued on the sides and would fall apart if I tried and even if successful would be a nightmare putting back.

Also if I could find the right color in a "brush on" form I could always clean out the little sponge applicator bottle and fill it with the color of my choice?

Advice?
