I recently did an Airtex Interior and cracked the plastic door handle insert because the new door panel is a bit thicker than the old one. It amazes me that it was plastic to begin with. After much digging... I found Piper Part 459-441 and 581-489 are the same used on a VW bug! The actual items are the approved alternate part 113-837-239B with Cover 311-837-247 listed in the Piper Cherokee Parts Manual... and... I could still get a pair in REAL METAL!

My point is... because these were sold as a pair, and there is only one door, I have a new handle and insert available on Ebay for anyone interested and your plastic insert will be a thing of the past and never break again... holding that tidy door panel like a champ!
