Hey all. I have a 0-320 with 1200 smoh. I was recently climbing through 9500 feet getting over Lake Tahoe when I felt a vibration heavy in the floor board (not pedals). My yoke mounted iPad was noticeably shaking also. The vibration would literally put your feet to sleep. Plane runs perfect all the times.
I got it back home and had compression checks done, new plugs/wires, air filter, oil, even engine mounts. Then flew it on 2, 3 hour flights. I have determined that below 7500 feet the vibration does not exist, but as soon as I go higher it comes back and then even going back down to say 4500 ft I cannot get it to go away until the next flight. In my mind I think the vibration lessons with a full rich mixture at 7500ft after the vibration has started.
Speaking to wiser pilots, one thinks its an exhaust valve sticking. I have a insight engine monitor that tells me everything and my number 1 cylinder runs an EGT about 200 deg. hotter than the others. Could this be whats going on? The only things I haven't tried is overhaul mags or carb.
Engine burns very little oil, starts right up with no vibrations
Thanks
