I would like the opinion of my fellow pilots.
I got an estimate to install a new Garmin 175 GPS a new GFC 500 AP and G5. I had a previous G5 already installed. No yaw damper or auto trim added. The original estimate was 28K. Estimated time in shop was 3-4 wks. Actual time double that. While it was in the shop I had them do the AD for the inspection plates and add a USB port. This added little over $3200 to the Bill. When I just got my final Bill it was 41K while I was expecting about 31K going with the estimate
Their excuses were well we needed some additional parts and we pulled the old wiring out too, besides the original quote was just an estimate.
Am I wrong in thinking this is out of bounds and is not within reason? This is over 30% increase of the estimate. I feel like raising hell but would like some feedback

thanks
