Elementary question, but I'd like to change the oil in my airplane. I've changed oil on cars for 20 years, so am very learned on process. But, specific to airplanes, never done it. I do have a quick drain on my oil pan. I assume I need to get some vinyl tubing of the correct diameter to stick on that drain to vector into a pan. Then the filter comes off, new one goes on, just like a car, then safety wire into position. That is the new part. Do I need to get a pair of safety wire winding pliers or should I just do it by hand? Then fill her back up - 7 quarts or so? Its a Lycoming O-320-E2D.

Also, the airplane came from up north. It currently has 15w50 in it, but everyone I know down here in Florida runs Aeroshell 100, which from what I have gathered is really a 50 weight straight viscosity oil. In Florida, is the Aeroshell the better choice to use?
