I sold another aircraft I had owned for 15 or so years and purchased my Cherokee 160 this year. I knew it would need some attention at annual as I knew at least one cylinder had low compression when I purchased the airplane.
So, here's the update on the repairs. The annual inspection began the first of November and she needed a top overhaul. (or at least enough cylinders had issues to justify a top overhaul.) It had a few other odds and ends needing attention on the airframe, but nothing major. My mechanic has taken his time this winter and gone through everything thoroughly.
I'm now excited because the work is almost complete. The new cylinders are installed and she'll be test run this week. I also had some paint work done on the wheel pants, which is being finished up today.
All in all, I'm excited to see this project come together. I look forward to many hours of fun out of my "new" airplane.
