Went out today with my CFI to fly some approaches with the new IFD 550. Recently had it long with AXP322 (remote transponder) and skytrax 100 (ADSB in) installed.
Everything worked well until approaching the FAF on an ILS and the glide slope flag stayed in place. The identifier was correct and the IFD even labeled it correctly. Top right showed gps -> VLOC upon crossing the FAF it never went into LOC mode and the nav mode block never changed from Term to App.
We thought maybe it was an issue with the airport so we flew to another place with an ILS and had the same results. Never went to app mode and the glideslope never came alive.
Headed back home and shot an RNAV (we don't have ILS at my home field). Glideslope worked fine on RNAV
Glideslope worked on previous ILS approaches before the 530w was exchanged for IFD550.
Note sure if it's a setting or user error vs something mechanical that may have occurred during the recent panel work.
Curious if anyone has suggestions ok the likely culprit. I didn't want to take it back to the shop if it might be a simple setting or user error issue.
