So our group bought a 1976 Archer II with a wore out O-360 A4M rebuilt it and brought it home a couple of weeks ago. I trained in 172's and love the Archer! I only have one issue with it -- my 77 year old father has a hard time getting in and out. He told me last night that he thinks his flying days maybe over due to the difficulties he has with getting in and out. He has had one knee replaced which has limited bend to it (the right knee) and has some disc issues in his back. Does anyone have any tricks to see if it will be easier on him? I would like to divest the 172 partnership but if he can't get in and out of the Archer then I will keep it to keep him flying. Thanks Everyone!
