After all the hassle i had with the banks and the FAA closure I made the 1350nm mile trip and brought my new to me six home on Halloween eve. We left KAPA in Denver the afternoon before and flew as far as we could in VFR to Grand Island Neb. After getting a great steak and some shut eye my instructor and I left kGRI and had to head into the storm system going across the central states. we spent 2/3 of the flight home in mic but with the help of Xm weather on the 530 and some great flight planning we hop scotched around the heavier rains and made it safely home to Oswego KFZY NY. The best part of the flight was seeing how fast our ground speed would go upto with the tail winds we were getting at 7000ft. We got up to an impressive 213kts at 120ias at 65% power. I know the pictures are not the best but i only had my IPhone.
