One avionics shop has warned me that sounds from modern, all-digital GPS/nav/comms might not be great going through my simple KMA 24 audio panel, which is just a switch (no amplifier).

Does anyone have experience flying with a Garmin 430W, Avidyne 440, Garmin 650, or similar sending audio through an old KMA 24? Are you able to hear transmissions OK?

I plan to upgrade eventually, but I'd like to spread my purchases out over a few years if I can.

Thanks, David
