Not trying to hijack this thread, but on a semi-related subject, do you guys have an opinion on max safe EGT? I have been running my TIO-540-S1AD LOP (w/Gami's) since I upgraded my JPI to an EDM-830 and added FF, MAP, and RPM. After the quick-pull to engine roughness, then leaning slightly to smooth it out, I'll settle in at 65-67% HP indicated on the EDM, with TIT @ 1550. The thing that bugs me is that I'll get an occasional EGT alarm on one or two cylinders (5&4) in this configuration. I have not found a way to alter the alarm point for EGT, which is factory set at 1650.

I recall reading a post in a previous thread on this board suggesting if you have TIT, you can ignore EGT (paraphrased), but it isn't so easy when the JPI flashes red every couple of minutes. I can usually nudge the mixture back a tad to stop it (passengers notice it), but the engine is already right on the cusp of roughness as it is. Don't get me started on the lack of a vernier mixture control...
