Sometimes when I turn on the battery half of the Master switch(I have a split switch) electronics (fuel guages, etc) don't power up. If I toggle the emergency bus bypass toggle it usually clears up.

Any suggestions on what it could be? (Master Switch, Master Soleniod, dirty contacts, etc). I am going to inspect the Master Soleniod contacts to make sure they are clean.

Am I at risk of not charging the battery or getting stranded? (or will the emergency bus bypass temporarily solve)

Here are a couple of additionals items that may be relavent:
1) When the avionics shop applied external power to the outside port, the battery bus came on without turning on the Master battery switch. I thought the Master battery switch had to turn on the battery bus.
2) A G5 HSI that is connected to the battery bus was just added to the airplane so this increases the load some. The issue did not exist before the G5 addition.
