Scenerio- Company I work for merging -severance packages coming within 2 months.

I have been dreaming of a career as full time pilot but I only have 400 hours. I will finish my IFR ticket in a few weeks and then immediately afterwards my commercial ticket. I have heard that I might be able to get a job flying cargo in say a Cessna Caravan with around 500 hours. Does that sound accurate?

I would be happy to spend money on fuel with some of my severence to build 100-200 hours in my Pathfinder. This will allow me to get IFR flight hours and total flight time around 500 -600 hours within the next few months.

I know I will take a pay cut initially, but if I could make $60k flying during the first 12 months, I could make my severence stretch until able to make six figures again.

Whats everyone's thoughts? Realistic or not? If so, any recommendations of places I should apply in DFW?
Thanks for your consideration.
