Working on a friends Dakota, 1700 hr engine. He bought it from me about a year ago did paint windows interior garmin A/P 750, g5s, wow.
Anyway while performing the last annual we decided to fix every oil leak, did all the drain back hoses sump drain o-ring and while we were there we installed a new oil cooler, the old one had a cracked mount but ran fine.
Over the next couple flights <1 hr the oil temp is 220. we resealed all baffle holes and this thing is running 350-375 CHts why is the OT up?
I pulled the vernatherm and look at this! I have built a ton of lycomings and have never seen this wear pattern, and its BENT!
Any engine people see this before?
