I recently read a post elsewhere in which a pilot related his experience with the folks at the Friendly Aviation Administration reaching out to him for a meeting at his hangar. Seems that they had seen his in flight videos and want to talk to him about how his external camera was mounted. He wen to to say that "I did get a slap on the wrist, so to speak for not having a log book entry approving a minor airframe modification. For those out there considering a GoPro mounted to your plane, do know the FAA wants a mechanic approved endorsement in your airframe maintenance log to be legal."
Here's my question. I've been mounting my camera on the pre-existing antenna mount on the tail of my Cherokee Six. You can see the type of video I get with this here:

Is it reasonable to ask my A&P to write up a log book entry approving this?
