Replacing the gear lights with LED bulbs, even dimmable LED bulbs, is a problem. However, every problem has a solution. The gear lights aren't really dimming for night operation. The roller switch changes the ground from a direct ground to a resistance to ground. If you change to LED bulbs, replacing the GE 330 bulbs, they do not dim as they did before. The lower wattage LED's require a higher resistance to change the brightness of the bulbs.

The gear bulb lenses look brighter and bolder with an LED bulb in them, but not dimming for night ops' could be an issue. Still interested in replacing your gear lights with LED's?

I haven't bench checked this, but it calc's out to this.

Replace the 75 ohm resistor at the bulb sockets with a 300 ohm resistor.
