I know this subject has been discussed 100's of times...almost so many times that I have confused myself. I've read all the post and articles from the gurus and now want mention how I'm doing it to see if this seems right. All I have in my plane is an EGT and fuel monitor.

Taxi- I aggressively lean to where the engine almost quits (I assume there is no red box at these low RPMs and any amount of leaning is better than none assuming I return back the full rich before takeoff)

Climb Out and up to cruise I keep full rich

Cruise- after I find 65% power via a chart in my my manual, then I lean to the onset of roughness then enrich to smooth (but no more). I assume this is LOP.

If I want best power, I find 75% power via chart and lean until my tach shows a max increase in RPMs and then just a hair rich. I assume this is ROP.

Decend- full rich

Landing- full rich

Thanks
