I've been running my MX1700 as Com/Nav1, and it started having issues with intermittent/weak/scratchy transmission. In an effort to rule out the radio itself, I pulled it from the tray and plugged in my previously working KX175B. Only to find that it has somehow gone to hell while sitting on the shelf in the hangar over the summer. You can't turn the volume up on it - when it approaches full volume the volume gets very garbly and then cuts out. You can turn it down to where it clears up, but as you listen to it, it gets quieter and quieter and fades out. I didn't even try to transmit with it. Anyone familiar with King radios that can give me an idea what's wrong and where the best place is to send it for repair?
