Need some advice from those in the know. I am upgrading the JPI EDM 700 in my new plane to an 830, and in discussing the options my AP/IA recommended that I not get the OAT option. He says that it is a somewhat complicated procedure and he likes to limit the amount of holes in the airframe. Any validity to this line of thought? What really do I lose without it? It seems that really it would just be the percent horsepower calculation that the box runs, am I missing something?

Thanks!
