So my trusty little -140 that I proudly became the owner of back in April did have one inoperative item.... the clock. I did some interweb searching and found a couple of places that could overhaul it.... the going rate was upwards of 350 bucks. Enter a copy of Cherokee Hints and Tips that I had purchased along the way. Tucked away inside was a short write up about a guy in Chula Vista, CA that could overhaul it for 50 bucks. The copyright date on the book was 2000 or so, but I thought what the heck, I'll see if this guy is still around. Well, no only is still around, he still has reasonable prices..... very reasonable. So out came my clock, carefully packaged up, and off to California it went. Got it back today.... the hands are repainted, it's spotless everywhere, and it keeps perfect time. The total bill, including shipping back to me.... $77.00. Yes, you read that right. Seventy seven dollars.
