My partner and I are looking at installing a panel mounted intercom system in our recently purchased 65 180c. I was hoping to get some input on a couple things:

1. We're looking at the mono 4 place PS Eng. unit (PMA 1000ii). The sigtronics unit (SPA-400) is another option. Does any one have any strong feelings of one vs. the other?

2. The other question is regarding location of the rear jacks. We had initially decided to leave the rear places disconnected with pig tails for future installation. The reasoning was that pulling the interior panels and finding sites for the jacks seemed like it would add significantly to the install time and thus cost. Then I had the idea (it seems like I've seen this somewhere, but I'm not sure where) of putting the rear jacks between the front seats. I thought building a small metal box and installing it on the floor might simplify things significantly since the wires could be run under the carpet instead of under the side panels. Has any done this? Does this seem like a feasible option?

Thanks for your input!

Scott
