I passed my IFR written and am excited to start IFR lessons. After my first flight, my instructor strong encouraged me to change the layout on my panel to standard 6 pack.

Attached is a picture of my panel. (Though I've since removed the ADF and xponder, and installed ADS-B in place of Apollo unit.)

Cost to re-organize panel into almost like a 6-pack: $1800-$2000

I owned my plane for 2 yrs and don't plan to fly IFR in another plane. I'm comfortable with my layout. What are people's thoughts and experience?

On a related note, my turn coordinator is dying and I'm replacing it with an RC Allen 2600 digital attitude indicator. Pic attached.

If I don't restructure my panel, should I drop the new AI in place of TC or pay an extra 2 hrs of labor to move it to where the Vacuum AI is now, and move the old AI down one spot to where the TC currently is?

Thank you for your advice.
