IFD guys (Orest?) -

I've now got an IFD540 and an IFD440 in the plane. 540 is WAAS, 440 is non-WAAS. Have been using the 540 for sometime, and was happy to upgrade to a 440 as well, while my non-WAAS garmin 430 still had resale value.

Two questions:
1. I get cross sync failure on both units. Is this because one is WAAS and the other isn't? Or should cross sync still work and something else is wrong? What might that something else be? (The garmins were previously wired for cross fill)

2. I intend to upgrade the 440 to WAAS capable when I upgrade to a new transponder for ADS-B. My understanding is all I need to do is upgrade the antenna and coax, and then update the 440 config to let it know it has a WAAS antenna. Anything else I need to do to make this work?

Thanks in advance
Kris
