How many shots of primer on a Dakota?

How many shots of prime to you guys use when starting your Dakota cold? The POH seems to say zero and 1-3 if it doesn't start, but I don't know anybody that does that.

Mine used to be 6, then after mag overhaul, 5. I just did another 500-hour mag overhaul and 6-8 seems to be required now (40F outside). I just finished annual (picking it up soon), and the primer lines were cleaned and checked out.
