I am planning an upgrade to the interior of my cube hangar (42' x 32' x 16' high)....(insulation, drywall, etc) and adding a gas fired unit heater to keep it warm. The objective is to keep the temperature above freezing in the winter, and to be able to warm it up reasonably fast when we work on the airplane.

The hangar is in Vancouver, BC, Canada so the climate is the same as Seattle, WA.

One contractor recommended a 75MBH (75,000 btu/hr) and another contractor recommended a 145MBH (145,000 btu/hr).

I'm not really sure how much heat I need....anyone know? Any suggestions how to calculate this?
