Our Cherokee six 300's IO540 has always had a #2 cylinder that runs 30 degrees F hotter than the rest of the lot. I know all about the possibilities of differing probes and install locations. #2 Being right in front, seems to me that it would run cooler if anything, than the rest. My partner in the aircraft seems to think the plate for the heater intake blocks #2 and makes it warmer but I'm skeptical. That would be common across all similar models. Does anyone else with a six-300 experience a warm #2 cylinder? I'm planning on having our mechanic swap out the probes but thought I'd get input here first.
