PA32-300 with IO540-K1A5 and JPI EDM930. Last couple flights when I pull the throttle back and reduce the MP a lot on final I get an alarm from the JPI for high fuel pressure- it shows 40 which is the beginning of redline. Looking at the data on my computer, it only shows 39.8 or less. This is with electric boost pump off.
Turning on the fuel pump has always caused a reduction in fuel pressure so I turn it on and this brings the pressure down a little. Just wondering if I should be looking at anything or why it might increase when reducing MP? Could this be pointing to some other issue? Looking back on the data over the past year, the fuel pressure has always increased a little when pulling back the MP to near idle on final descent but it usually tops out at 38 or 39. What is the danger of a fuel pressure that hits 40 or 41?
