Help With Forward CG in Cherokee

I bought a very clean little 1962 PA 28-160 recently. I have noticed it can get out of forward CG pretty easily. I have heard that the early Cherokees have an outdated CG envelope that was amended by the FAA sometime in the early seventies. The new CG envelope gives a little more forward CG allowance. Does this really exist or am I misinformed??
