San Juan Center was wiped out, no radar service and no radio relays.  Last 50 miles is VFR without radar separation. ATC on the field is military by handheld radio as of yesterday.


We (an aviation charity) have over 2 million pounds of supplies sitting on the ground in Florida, couldn't get anyone to fly down there until today at the earliest.


Charter brokers are a rung lower than 70s porn stars. As are private security outfits floating around these natural disasters.  If you pay one of them they're going to call me to bum a ride, and I'm going to tell them to shove it.  Don't throw money around to shady people, it only makes it all worse.
