On two of my three flights with the GTN 650 so far, I've experienced periodic satellite loss. Turning everything else (portable and panel) except the transponder and audio panel off or on makes no difference. The middle flight (N/S around 3,000 ft) was flawless, no matter what I turned off or on; today's flight (same directions and altitude) I was timing the outages, and they were highly predictable: 8–11 minutes fully operational (6+ satellites with full bars), then total satellite loss, then reacquisition after a bit over a minute (1:10–1:20).

I'll be talking to the avionics shop on Monday and setting a date for going back in. In the meantime, does this pattern remind anyone of anything they've seen? Any hunches?

Thanks, David
