So, some of the older GPS units are getting cheap.

I have a GX50 which is an enroute only certified GPS sitting on the shelf. I can plug it right into the LORAN tray and have VFR GPS. But it looks like approach certified GPS is where it's at. Most of my local airports have GPS approaches.

What obstacles are there to installing and utilizing a King KLN89B or 90B for IFR including enroute and approaches? What other equipment would I need? Are the databases still supported?
