I just found out my friend and American hero General Charles Yeager has passed away. I dare say many of us old codgers remember General Yeager's exploits mostly his breaking the sound barrier in the X-1 Bell aircraft. He was a native of West Virginia and I was privileged over the years to take him from his home in California back here to visit his old homestead and attend local events. My fondest memory was flying in a Husky out over the Sierras and over Lake Tahoe taking fabulous videos all the way.
He certainly was one of the few remaining icons from a bygone era of aviation. Rest In Peace my friend.
