Was just talking to the son of the FBO owner in town and he was saying that 100LL cannot now be delivered by pipeline - it must be tanked by road, rail or train. Apparently a broken pipeline that dumps 10,000 gal. of 100LL is much worse than 10,000 of unleaded gas? Also , that there are no refineries in the US that refine 100LL - it all comes from Mexico or S. America. If this is true, no wonder the price is where it's at. He also said he was told that the annual usage of 100LL in the US is equal to 1 days use of unleaded car gas. I guess we should be glad we can get any fuel at all.
