Garmin gns430w & 530w crossfill help

I know that in order to be able to use the cross fill function. Between these units both have to have current updated same issue databases installed. What I'm wondering though is if anyone knows the answer to this, I have a current Jeppesen subscription for my 430w, the pricing is better through flygarmin though so if I purchase the second subscription through Garmin and not jeppesen would the crossfill option work? Or do I have to have both subscriptions purchased through the same supplier i.e. Either Garmin or jeppesen...

Problem is my jeppesen subscription has 9 months to go
