I see that the Aera 660 has 2 rs-232 interfaces that could be used to connect to other devices. I like the idea of connecting the 660 to garmin waas equipped GTX-345 ADSB In/Out and to a DAC GPSS roll converter. This would provide a cost effective VFR WASS navigator with weather, traffic, synthic vision and other features. Both the 345 and the 660 have bluetooth interfaces. The 345 will connect to foreflight to provide gpss, weather and traffic. The 660 is a ruggedized unit with good sun light readability.

I wonder if you can transfer flight plans between the 660 and foreflight? That would be great. Will this solution work? Let me know what you think.

345 WAAS ADSB $7K installed
DAC roll converter installed $4K?
660 in panel gizmo installed $1.5K
