Made a flight Friday, all good, talked to several ATC's. Yesterday nobody could hear me. The TX illuminates as if it is transmitting and it breaks squelch on a handheld radio in the plane. Receives just fine, like normal. I checked all breakers, checked antenna connections, and tried multiple frequencies. To get me by I just need to make my COM2 the primary unit for TX/RX and use COM1 for monitoring and ATIS/ASOS/AWOS receptions. That and keep fresh batteries in the handheld and keep squawk 7600 ready to go.

Hoping this is a problem that somebody has experienced and can say oh yeah, I have seen that, probably a simple solution try this.......

If it is really broken my local installer quoted $14800 for an install of the GTN650.

The other things in the plane that work well is the GMA345 audio panel, GTX345 transponder, and dual G5's. So maybe if I do need to upgrade I need to stay with Garmin so everything communicates well together?

What does the board say?
