I’m curious what other owners of a Saratoga II HP use for draining the fuel strainer? I’ve mainly flown Pipers: Archer, Warrior, Dakota. They have a nice easy fuel strainer valve right off the cowling. My Saratoga has a valve underneath the fuselage. The book says to place a container under there, then climb inside and hold the drain button for 6 seconds each tank. It seems to just make a big mess, especially if its windy out, with fuel missing the container and dumping all over the place.

Am I missing something? I preferred the other fuel strainer valve type on the Archer/Warrior/Dakota that I just use my normal fuel cup.
