I just want to check something here. I am wrapping up this SB1006 on my airplane and once done, I will be utilizing another mechanic going forward. This current guy I'm using isn't working for me. That said, I've been babysitting everything he's done on this SB to make sure it's up to my standards and one thing that concerns me is that when he hooked up the rubber fuel lines that run the last foot or so to the actual fuel tank fitting, he just tightened up both sides by hand. No torque wrench, no thread locker, nothing. Just twisted on the fittings hand tight and tightened with the good ole Mark I "torque arm".
Is this proper? Seems like fuel lines are CRITICAL. Once that tank is screwed in, it's in for the next 7 years. Airplanes vibrate a lot. Is this best practice? I will admit, I didn't see any thread locker on the old ones.
Thanks.
