While on the way home from Florida the other day I was poking around in my GTN and found a reading for fuel efficiency. At the time I was cruising at 2400 RPM, and 24.3” MP at 12,000 ft. burning 10.4 GPH LOP. My engine monitor (G4 Twin) showed that was around 62% HP on the LOP side. That yielded a TAS if 152 kts., about 18 kts. slower than the 170 kts. I was getting at full rich after level off prior to leaning. My GTN fuel planning page showed all this came up to 7.5 NM/Gal for my fuel efficiency. I’ve never really paid much attention to that before now and I’m not sure if that’s good, bad, or average. I’m curious if anyone else that has the capability to compute fuel efficiency pays any attention to it, and what kind of readings do you get? I’m sure with a twin I’m a little lower than some singles.
