Flight planning on Apps.

Do any of these apps require an internet connection to allow you to create a flight plan on the actual app ?

The reason I ask is someone was telling me that there was an app, that if you added waypoints like airports, navaids etc to a flight plan, key data points like Mag Heading and distance to next waypoint are not automatically populated, the app has to "phone home" to determine that data.... to me thats just bad.
