I got up early on Fathers' Day for a breathtakingly beautiful, low-altitude 2-hour flight up the Ottawa River in calm morning air. At the far end, on a whim, I flew the last remaining civilian NDB approach in Eastern Ontario/West Quebec — into Pembroke (CYTA) — before turning back for home.
I always loved NDBs during IFR training (the simplest of all navaids), and I'll keep practicing that last one until Nav Canada finally decommissions it.
