Engine preheat related question.

I have an oil pan type preheater. I purchased a cellular controlled power outlet a couple years ago. It worked great. I would send a txt message to it and it would turn on the heater. I would do this a couple hours before flying in the winter and the engine/oil would be nice and warm when I got to the airport. Unfortunately, it's no longer working. I'm being told that it is because most cell providers (AT&T specifically) have shut down 2g service and my device is indeed 2g. So my question is what do you use? I have to have a cellular controlled device because there isn't any wifi or internet access at my airport.
