Would the addition of an engine analyzer be worthwhile for a carbureted O-320 Cherokee?

Would an MVP50P be overkill for a Cherokee 140/50/160/180?

If you wouldn't choose the MVP50P, then what would you install in your Cherokee?

Thanks for your input.
