Hello,
I flew my recently purchased Comanche 400 for the first time solo today and had a frustrating incident. On the way up the door unlatched and the passenger harness was pulled outside the plane where it badgered the side of the plane pretty good and broke the rear window. I've solicited my go to mechanic to assess the repair but I am just seeking ideas in terms of what to expect. Not sure if I need to file a claim or not. I am 10hr on the make and model and my insurance rate is suicidal. I don't want to be stuck with a high premium due to an early incident.
Specific questions:
1. Can anyone guestimate how much work it is to fix the window. Then to repair and or replace the panels?
2. Am I likely to get boned if I file a claim?
