Greetings,
could someone enlighten me about the DME HOLD purpose?

What I know so far: (warning... 15 flight hours know-how :)

1. I can use both of my NAVs to select two different VORs
2. If I am lucky, the VOR will also have a DME
3. Now I have two nice Cyan coloured arrows on my HSI pointing to the selected VORs.
In the screenshot below, Left = LUX, Right = DIK
4. Also the distance in white digits.

Now... when I press the DME button, a third "box" appears with a default DME (set to NAV1)

buuuut when I select a source of this "third" DME, I can select HOLD and now whatever was selected in the NAV1 Frequency will be kept/memorized even if I change the NAV1 to something else.

Is there a example when I could use the DME HOLD? (Besides having a third distance?

Thanks in advance.
