If you know you’re going to be close to Williamsport, PA, be sure to contact them in advance to get a tour. You’ll see the entire process of building an engine from milling cylinder heads, to assembly, test runs and crating up for shipment. I always knew the QA had to be meticulous but I was floored at the entire procedure and the level of detail at each station. I was there for 90 mins…the guy giving me the tour (Brandon) was a A&P, answered every question I had and could speak in great detail of what each station was doing. It’s clear they take great pride in their work which gave me a lot of confidence knowing my engine was manufactured on that floor after seeing exactly how it was done. Definitely worth doing if you happen to be in the area. One tidbit of info he told me is if you order a refurb engine and if they happen to be low on refurb parts, which happens more often than you think, you’ll get a brand new engine at the refurb price. They won’t let you take any pictures of production but this sign is posted multiple times throughout the entire factory.
