My Dakota serial number calls for the 560-904 OEM-equivalent air filter (Donaldson 08-06075) which I previously purchased for $195 in 2021 but is now listed for $427. I understand that aircraft part prices have increased significantly, but the adjacent Donaldson part number 08-06074 (for lower serial number Dakotas) is listed for $193, similar to the previous price.
While I wait for Aircraft Spruce to give me a call back to confirm this is the correct price, Skygeek lists my version for $500. So, it seems like specific air filter might indeed be that much more expensive than others.
So, what is the difference between the air filter made for Piper Dakotas below versus above (inclusive) serial number 79-28112783?
