Stopped in at KHAF yesterday for lunch.....Wind sheer reported and AWOS was reporting 20 kt x-wind... I normally keep the crab going until about 1/2 final and then transition to wing into the wind opposite rudder . Piper PA28 235

My passenger a fellow pilot said he will start the "wing" into the wind much much sooner .

Thoughts.

BTY - Great lunch stop
