Been wondering about this for some time. My 6-260 has louvers on each side of the lower cowl. On the right the louvers face back. On the left they face forward. Isn't the idea to create higher pressure in the upper cowl and lower pressure in the lower cowl? The forward facing louvers would be doing just the opposite. They would be increasing the lower cowl pressure substantially.

I couldn't find closeup pics of a 6-260 cowl, but I found some of a 235, which should be about the same firewall forward. The 235 has both louvers facing aft.

To add the the confusion, the louvers can be mounted in either direction, so it is possible that someone many moons ago installed the left side backwards and it had just gone un-noticed.

Could the 6-260 and 235 owners confirm the direction of the louvers?

Thanks
