The scenario would be as follows: you have some large electronic device - maybe think a large lithium-ion battery pack - and something like that starts to catch on fire. It’s going crazy and you believe it will consume the cabin (or blow up) if you can’t put the fire out, and you believe your only chance of survival is to ditch it overboard.
My question is, who has tried to open a door in-flight? Think Cherokee/Lance/Seneca co-pilot door, or the Seneca/Cherokee 6 rear door. Can this be done far enough with average strength to jettison large objects? Or are you stuck trying to put it out with the extinguisher, which may not work?
